Corporate Director Business & Environmental Services
We are looking to appoint to the pivotal position of Corporate Director who will lead our Business and Environmental Services and as part of Corporate Management Board the support the wider strategic leadership of the council. You will provide commercial leadership as a Board Member on some of our Brierley Group of businesses.

Business and environmental services (BES) is one of the County Council’s three front line service directorates. The key focus of business and environmental services is to support the council’s plan to deliver economic growth the vision of which is for “A place with a strong economy and a commitment to sustainable growth that enables everyone to fulfil their ambitions and aspirations”, which is also a corporate objective. This is achieved through directorate’s service plans: -

- Transport Waste and Countryside Services
- Growth, Planning & Trading Standards
alongside strong regional partnerships including the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and our trading companies: NyNet, Yorwaste, Brierley Homes, Align and new Highways Teckal company.
