Customer Services Officer - 2 Jobs
Job 1 - 22½ hours £11,890 - £12,871 - working pattern Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5pm – 10pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm.
Job 2 - 17½ hours £9,248 - £10,010 - working pattern Thursday, Friday 5pm – 10pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm.
The vacancies are based at the 24 Hour Service team, the council’s emergency out of hours contact centre, Civic Centre 3, Huddersfield.
The services we handle enquiries on behalf of are housing epairs, emergency housing repairs, Emergency Duty Social services calls and the council’s helpline.
On a day to day basis you will provide excellent customer service at all times in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner, adapting your approach as appropriate to ensure equality of access for all. Many of our customers are vulnerable, carry a complex set of circumstances and can be demanding about a resolution to their needs.
You will be required to access various computer systems to retrieve and input information and update customer records in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols. You will need accurate keyboard skills with the ability to talk and type plus have an understanding of confidentiality issues relating to customer information.
Full training will be given to enable you to acquire an indepth knowledge of relevant services. We work in a culture where we share knowledge and help each other so there is plenty of support after training.
Due to the nature of these posts, there is a requirement to be police vetted.
