About Us:

One million residents, workers and tourists pass through Westminster every single. It’s a staggering figure – but is hardly surprising when you consider that the area is home to multiculturally diverse neighbourhoods such as China Town and Little Venice, plus iconic tourist destinations including Trafalgar Square. As such, the city is a true 24/7 destination, benefitting from the support of a proud local community – plus the innovative Cross River Partnership (CRP). Having existed for the last 25 years, this progressive initiative is committed to shaping regeneration projects that will make London an even nicer and healthier place. And now you could play an integral part in our work.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the CRP team in developing and delivering their projects. Working to improve London’s air quality, you will have contact with a wide range of sectors and businesses, helping them to understand what actions they could take in order to lessen their impact on the environment. You will also support the delivery of CRP’s other multi-funded projects across a range of subjects, with a focus on freight and transport. With funding provided by a range of organisations such as Defra, you will ensure that the team’s objectives are being met, and you will provide regular updates on performance and current and planned activities.

Across all challenges, you will take responsibility for the accurate collection and reporting of data and you will develop best practice case studies – thereby providing an essential tool in encouraging other business owners to get on-board with the CRP’s vital suggestions!

About You:

To make the most of this valuable opportunity, you will ideally have experience in the regeneration or sustainability field, preferably working with the private, public and voluntary sectors. With a background in communicating with businesses to achieve commercial behaviour change, you will be an influential and engaging individual with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. With the capacity to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, you will be able to resolve complex issues in a diplomatic and sensitive manner, and you will be comfortable managing your own workload. It is essential that you enjoy conducting research (both online, via the phone and face-to-face) and this will be backed up by a good understanding of how to use web-based data collection tools such as Survey Monkey. Crucially, you will have a good knowledge of (or even experience in) environmental issues and corporate sustainability.

What We Offer:

With the chance to work across London and really get to know this incredible city, your core base will be in our newly-refurbished offices – a unique working environment that lends itself to collaboration and the development of some truly exciting ideas. You will also work at various other points across London, embedding yourself in teams while you work with businesses to help them map a better future. As such, there is great variety in this role, with the scope to make a dramatic impact on Londoners’ wellbeing. On a personal level, you will receive plenty of support and development opportunities so that you can achieve your long-term goals, and you will receive a competitive benefits package. This is a highly friendly, inclusive and diverse team where we want you to succeed – so bring your full personality to work, and help us make a difference.
