This is the lead Economic Development role within the Regeneration & Growth Directorate of Sandwell Council as we develop the UK’s first Inclusive Economy Deal. The post holder will be key in shaping Sandwell’s Economic Policy and will lead the development of the Sandwell Business Growth team.

The team has recently merged with the Regeneration Service Area, creating the new Regeneration & Growth Team. This role is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Senior Management to establish the future direction and strategic aims of the newly formed team and Sandwell’s Economic & Social policy to support an Inclusive Economy.

The role is to establish and lead the delivery of Sandwell’s Economic Growth agenda, with responsibility for attracting investment to Sandwell and supporting the growth of indigenous businesses, ensuring alignment to the Black Country’s Strategic Economic Plans and West Midlands strategic aims.

You will forge effective working relationships with existing and new businesses and partners promoting economic growth and regeneration including but not exclusively; the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership; the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Growth Hub and the West Midlands Combined Authority; West Midlands Growth Company, neighbouring boroughs and Sandwell’s Top 50 and Strategic Businesses.
