Southampton is one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.  We have cemented our position as the economic powerhouse of the south coast, but we won’t stop there.  We have a once in a generation moment to shape a city where everyone thrives in a global, cohesive and sustainable place of opportunity.  To deliver this future we need to change fundamentally, becoming more connected, more agile, more efficient and more entrepreneurial.  We want to attract the very best people to help build tomorrow’s Southampton, while securing service excellence today.

You will lead our housing service, taking ownership of housing strategy and management and working across the city to deal with the challenges of homelessness and rough sleeping as well driving forward our pledge to build 1000 new Council Homes by 2025.  You will encourage community cohesion and engagement, bring together our public protection services and increase community participation in culture and leisure, championing our City of Culture 2025 bid.

For this role your contribution as part of the Council’s executive leadership team is as important as your professional expertise and experience.  If you want to be part of leading bold and radical change that sees all our citizens benefit, then come to Southampton and help build our global city of tomorrow.
