Exciting opportunities for Trading Standards Senior/Enforcement Officers

The Post

We are looking for two enthusiastic, highly motivated, hardworking officers with a detailed knowledge of a range of consumer protection legislation. If successful, you will be part of our committed Regulatory Team undertaking a full array of Trading Standards duties across all disciplines including safety, fair trading and doorstep crime, investigating criminal breaches, supporting businesses with both proactive and primary authority advice, maximising income opportunities, preparing investigation reports and working with our Financial Investigators. 

The Trading Standards service sits within Regulatory Services which includes officers from Food Safety, Health and Safety, Licensing, and Environmental Health disciplines and post holders will be expected to contribute to wider service and joint working projects with other teams where required.

The Person 

Successful candidates will be motivated, strategic thinkers holding a Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards or equivalent or having past regulatory service experience. You will be competent at investigating complex cases, able to use your own initiative, have good written and verbal communication skills, will be organised and concise, be committed to providing high standards of customer service and hold a detailed knowledge and understanding of the Trading Standards legislative framework.
