Retail Market Officer
This is an exciting role within Camden’s Market Service and is an integral part of the success of Camden’s growth plans.
We are looking for an energetic and confident individual that is comfortable working on the streets and speaking to various stakeholders whilst carrying out both development and enforcement duties. You will be required to provide advice, guidance and support to traders, Councillors, resident groups, community and partners, to reduce the impacts of unlicensed street trading, environmental crime and anti-social behaviour. You will deliver effective enforcement action to improve standards of local environmental quality.
You will be flexible and willing to get stuck in as you will be required to work on a shift basis over 7 days per week, including some late evenings and regular weekends. You will be comfortable working as part of a team but also working solely to deal with all serious disputes, disciplinary and enforcement issues courteously in a sensitive, professional and efficient manner. You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to listen effectively, whilst also being able to negotiate and influence others.
Camden’s main offices are located in modern, award-winning offices at King’s Cross. You can expect an exceptional range of benefits including discounted access to the onsite leisure facilities with swimming pool, recognition and reward for high performance with progression and pay increases, flexible and agile working hours and access to a leading pension scheme.
Camden is proud to be the country’s first Timewise council and as part of this accreditation, we work to help parents balance work with childcare. This fits in with our aim to be leaders in innovative, flexible and part-time working that allows for different patterns of care and for parents to share childcare responsibilities.
