Senior Building Control Officer

Salary up to £37,849 (Band G) per annum + generous employer career average pension contribution

The Council’s busy Building Control & Land Charges Team has a vacancy for an experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor. The successful candidate needs to be able to deputise for the team manager, demonstrate excellent customer care standards, be able to carry out business development and market the Council’s Building Regulation service, and be able to carrying out the wide range of tasks associated with a local authority Building Control function, e.g. plan checking, site inspections and dangerous structures callouts (including out of hours), especially for more complex projects. 

We are looking for a fully qualified member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB (Building Control route only) who has at least 5 years’ experience of working in Building Control. You must be an effective team member with the ability to work independently, be able to work flexibly and be adaptable to change, including a potential shared service.
