Are you someone with excellent skills in communications and looking for your next challenge? Are you an exceptional communicator with good copywriting skills? Do you have a high interest in government policy?

We are excited to be offering the opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our Local Enterprise Partnership based in York. As our Communications Officer you will be working across multiple work streams. Media relations work will include partnering with local authorities on specific projects as well as working with Journalists to develop regional and local narratives. You will also help to develop and run campaigns, such as our Circular Yorkshire campaign, that aims to encourage businesses across the region to take on principles that drive business efficiencies whilst reducing environmental impact. You will also support our engagement with key stakeholder groups to help us better understand them better and gather insights for our strategic work and government lobbying.. 

This is a challenging but very rewarding role as no two days are the same, you will see the  impact of your work on the ground helping to make a difference to the people of York and North Yorkshire. 

To be successful you must:

  • hold a formal qualification to degree level or equivalent (level 6) in a communications or related area.
  • have experience within a relevant communications field, of delivering projects and campaigns successfully.
  • ability to deliver against targets.
  • be an exceptional communicator and ability to use initiative to solve problems.
  • have exceptional copywriting skills, and;
  • have the ability to engage, influence and effect change.
