Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to play a big part in a small team that is reviewing our Local Plan? If so then read on.

The Local Plan was adopted in November 2017 and included a commitment to an early review. We have started work on the review and we are now looking to appoint a Principal Planning Officer who will play a key role in the preparation of the Local Plan. Along with the other Leicestershire authorities we have prepared a Strategic Growth Plan which sets out an ambitious growth strategy to 2050. The Local Plan review will need to take forward these ambitions.

This is an opportunity for a self-motivated person looking to develop their career. The ideal person will be educated to degree level, be a Member of (or eligible for) the RTPI and have significant experience of working in a planning environment. You will have good communication skills, be innovative and creative and be able to work to challenging deadlines and be able to act as an ambassador for the Council when working with external partners.
