Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Urban Design & Building Services team is looking to employ a permanent Lead Mechanical Engineer. You will be working alongside a creative, innovative, multi-disciplinary and self-motivated team of professionals (architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, property surveyors, mechanical and electrical engineers and associated co-ordination staff).
You will form part of a specialist team managing and delivering all aspects of mechanical engineering requirements for a large multi-site organisation, working on different types of buildings with a broad range of installed systems. Your role will involve interactive and collaborative working with our in-house teams, other local authorities, private sector consultants and delivery partners.
You will be required to provide a full range of mechanical engineering maintenance services including managing water hygiene, for a variety of existing buildings, including schools, offices, leisure facilities, community buildings, on behalf of Urban Design & Building Services internal and external clients.

This current vacancy is suited to a suitably qualified person. The minimum requirement for this post is either an appropriate degree or demonstrable training and skills, to a similar or higher level with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Further technical and practical training, where appropriate, may be provided to allow a suitably academically qualified person to become a member of the CIBSE.
