Job Details

This post was created in December 2016 to support schools on promoting positive mental health and to introduce schools to Islington’s Mental health and Resilience in Schools (iMHARS) Framework (an evidence-based framework). Since then it has gone from strength to strength and now provides staff training and workshops for parents and carers as well as advice on the curriculum and whole school approaches.

This is an amazing opportunity to continue developing and delivering Camden’s support to schools on positive mental health and resilience.

We are looking for an insightful and inspirational person who has experience of working with schools to develop their support for pupil’s mental health, deliver staff training and parent workshops, as well as carry out reviews with schools to identify their strengths and areas for development for supporting children and young people’s mental health and resilience.

This role is part of Camden’s Health and Wellbeing team that provides advice, training and guidance to schools, early year’s settings, after school clubs and youth clubs on a wide range of health and wellbeing priorities.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this exciting post it is essential that you possess a relevant degree such (for example Psychology, Public Health) or hold a professional qualification of an equivalent level in Education, Health or Social Care. The successful candidate will have substantial experience of supporting schools on mental health, carrying out reviews and report writing and delivering training and workshops on mental health, alongside strong practical problem solving skills and project management.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to work with schools to improve children and young people’s mental health.
