Testimonial from a Social Worker within our DBIT team:
"As a social worker in the existing DBIT teams, the biggest aspect of my job is the privileged time to carry out meaningful intensive direct work with whole families and young people. With protected caseloads of a maximum of 8 and joint working every case with another member of the team we are able to quickly build positive relationships with families and work regularly alongside to the beat of their agenda and how they would like life to look like. The other excellent aspect to my work is the solution focused strength based approach we use, which in my opinion is what social work is all about. Empowering families and building their confidence in their own powers to enable them to manage and achieve their own goals for themselves. There is a creative flexibility to not only how we work and meet with families, but also how we receive training, consultation and develop as workers within DBIT in order for families to achieve the positive outcomes which led to our service becoming permanent within Essex County Council."

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency.
