Estates Management

Camden Council provides housing to over 30,000 households across a diverse mix of housing estates, blocks, high-rise and street properties. Looking after these properties on a day-to-day basis requires a dedicated team of people, who take pride in their work and who can work with our residents and the communities we serve.

Among other front-line services, Estates Management primarily delivers caretaking to Camden’s 400+ estates, playing a vital role in contributing to the success Camden 2025, specifically ‘safe, strong and open communities’. Resident safety is embedded in everything we do as a service.

Camden Caretakers are valued by our residents and perceived as the face of the Council - the first point of contact for advice and support by members of the community. As such, our Caretakers play a vital role by signposting and representing the Council, as well as the core functions of cleaning and upkeep of our estates.

A recent review of the service has highlighted that residents want to receive value for money and want to be sure that the Council can be held accountable with improved monitoring, checks and inspections and a closer relationship between the service and its residents.
