We are currently looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our innovative and highly regarded Complex Needs Team. The service supports all children in Bexley, aged 0-19 who have Speech, Language and Communications needs.

Under the direction of the Specialist Education Lead for the Joint Communication Team (JCT), and in partnership with Speech and Language Therapists, you will be involved in working with schools, staff, external agencies and parents to support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in mainstream schools.

The candidate should enjoy working in a variety of situations and have an awareness of the impact that speech, language and communication difficulties can have on children. You should be both flexible and adaptable in your approach to identify and implement successful strategies that ensure children progress and reach their potential. The candidate should have experience of delivering speech and language programmes within a primary setting and/or working with groups of children to deliver early language interventions.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is a part of the Joint Communication Team (JCT). The Bexley Joint Communication Team are an integrated team of professionals who support children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. The team consists of Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), advisory teachers and speech and language assistants. They provide advice, assessment and practical ways to promote learning, access to the curriculum and the development of communication skills. They work in partnership with Early Years professionals, school staff, parents and children to maximize communication for learning, socialisation and independence.
