Student Engagement Programme Team works with challenging and vulnerable learners across Telford and Wrekin. We support students back into school and education. We work from five non-school based sites to support the needs of the learners referred to us from our local schools.

Our ethos is based around supporting the learner to access education in a conducive learning environment suitable to their needs and help prepare them to access mainstream or Post 16 education.  Social, Emotional Health and Mental Well-being is at the forefront of the support we give to students, their families and schools.

The role of Belonging Support Worker is a new and exciting position within our team.  This post will involve working with senior leaders, teaching and support staff to encourage students and families to engage with education and the services that support them.

It is anticipated that this post holder will support students and families with attendance at meetings that involve a range of services.  As well as supporting the student and their family to take and active role in the work they are involved in within the Student Engagement Programme with the goal of their return or transition to other education providers.

There may be an additional need to help and support the wider staff team as and when cover for other staff may be needed.  The post holder will be required to travel to SEP sites, schools and meetings across the Local Authority for this role.
