The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic thinker with experience of delivering large-scale programmes and projects.

You’ll be able to confidently plan and manage a range of activities with high levels of complexity, helping seed, accelerate and embed change whilst ensuring the organisation is brought along the journey.

We’re looking for self-starters, ready to take responsibility for finding new ways to get things done and to help others do so too. You enjoy mobilising people to tackle complex challenges and are confident in navigating ambiguous situations. You enjoy being at the heart of influencing council decision-making and understanding how to translate strategic priorities into impact on the ground. 

You must be passionate about collaboration, as this will be essential to the job – both with the organisation and our communities - to find the best solutions to tackle complex challenges.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse data to present complex information and recommendations in a clear manner to a range of audiences. Engaging communications and report-writing are key aspects of the role.

You will have experience of/interest in working in local government, and of leading strategies and change projects/programmes.

Additionally, you will have experience of one or more of the following areas:

  • Strategic planning, development, implementation and monitoring
  • Change management
  • Engagement
  • Data, research, analysis & performance management

We are recruiting for four Principal Policy & Projects Officers. These will each be focused on different areas, outlined below.

- Parks: Leading on mobilising staff, partners & communities to transform how our parks & green spaces can help people thrive and tackle inequalities.

- Property: Leading on supporting the transformation of a major department to new ways of working that align with our Camden 2025 outcomes & values.

- Corporate: You will support the service better support the strategic priorities of the organisation, providing targeted support to the Director of Participation, Policy & Communications, through working across Corporate Services, Chief Exec’s and Leader’s Office

- Sustainable Homes & Places: You will support the development of strategy & change, working with senior leaders, partners and communities to help deliver Camden 2025’s housing outcomes
