East Lindsey District Council are entering an exciting period of change, with a new focus on becoming an agile, innovative and commercial organisation underpinned by a healthy, people-centred, collaborative culture.  We are excited to work in response to the changing landscape of local government, shaping our organisation (and our district) through digitalisation, modernisation and sustainability to drive forward and achieve our ambitions around economic growth, supporting the most vulnerable in our communities and ensuring we provide good quality, core services.

East Lindsey is a polycentric district with settlements widely distributed across its geography. The economy in the district is divided between the coast and rural inland areas, which include high profile seaside resorts and traditional market towns.

The Council is looking to recruit and host the appointment of a new lead officer to work on helping our lead partners deliver a new Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival annual programme, from 2021.

Working on behalf of the project Steering Group, you will be the lead officer responsible for coordinating all technical and administrative aspects relating to the design, development and delivery of a financially sustainable multi-activity Outdoor Festival from 2021, to be based predominantly in the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Any future festival must appeal to and attract a broader audience, particularly families.  It must become financially sustainable through stakeholder support, grant funding opportunities and sponsorship income.  It must also increase participation in local sports and leisure activities and generate additional expenditure within the local economy.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest and understanding of events development and delivery.  You will also be able to work with a range of partners (including local businesses and volunteers) to showcase all that the Lincolnshire Wolds area has to offer in terms of sports, recreation, exploration, discovery and fun in order to generate and sustain widespread support and participation in the new events programme from 2021.

The current work base for this role is Manby.  The Council is introducing new ways of working which includes an office relocation and therefore the work base is likely to change to Horncastle.

If you believe you have the skills, knowledge and experience to effectively deliver this role, then we are excited to hear from you!
