Job Details
The housing needs reviews team seeks to improve the work of the housing needs group, contributing to the improvement of our services through learning identified from casework.
The successful candidate will carry out statutory reviews of decisions under the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2018. The post also involves investigating and responding to complaints at the local resolution stage of the Council’s formal complaints procedure; and investigate and respond to enquiries from Members about the services of the housing needs group.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to come to fair, reasoned and evidence-based judgments and to communicate these in a clear and logical manner. They will have an in-depth knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, parts 6 and 7, amending legislation and regulations and related guidance. They will possess the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
