As a Brokerage Officer in the Directorate of People you will be responsible for arranging Care Act 2014 compliant, Care home placements and Care Packages for both Adults and Children.

You will be required to provide day to day delivery of brokerage services, working closely with various Stakeholders such as Care providers, Social Workers, both Adults & Children's, Hospital Teams, Finance, Revenue & Benefits, Legal etc.

You will be expected to communicate effectively, ensure best value is achieved and maintain a courteous and professional attitude at all times.

You will be responsible for the following:

- Negotiating prices for placements

- Brokering services for Service Users, based on individual assessed needs;

- Working closely with Hospital Social Workers to ensure timely discharges from hospital;

- Work closely with Community Social Workers to ensure appropriate services are brokered, ensuring safety of Service Users at all times;

- Working across both Adults & Children's Services, including Client Groups such as Physical Disability, Learning Disability and Mental Health;

- Liaising in an effective and timely way with team members from Contracts, Quality Assurance, Commissioning and other colleagues across the Local Authority;

- Liaising with Providers and other parties to resolve complaints, and feed into Safeguarding's

Your ability to pay attention to detail and work with minimum supervision will be an advantage, and knowledge of care systems will be an advantage.

We are looking for someone whois highly numerate, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You will need to be able work flexibly and contribute positively to team performance.
