Building Services Engineer

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Building Services Engineers to assist in maintaining the Council's Property Portfolio.
Working closely with all members of the Facilities Management Team and reporting to the Property Maintenance Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for specific aspects of the operation, testing, repair, maintenance and replacement of mechanical/electrical services ensuring statutory compliance and the management of large maintenance contracts.
This post requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with considerable mechanical/electrical experience and a firm commitment to maintaining high standards for safe and efficient systems throughout the Council's estate.
You will be responsible for ensuring the Council's legislative and Health & Safety requirements are met, actively manage reactive and planned repairs in an efficient and cost-effective way and providing technical advice on all Building Services matters.
Extensive relevant experience is essential.
We are looking for someone with:
Good quality degree or equivalent in relevant subject i,e City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Plumbing
Membership of relevant professional body in a relevant area
A sound understanding of Work and Health / Safety at Work regulations & best practice.
Computer literate, preferably with some experience of planned maintenance systems;
Proven practical experience and knowledge of building maintenance;
Experience of working with external contractors/suppliers;
