The Team is responsible for consultation with residents, community development and leadership in the community. We support ward Councillors to engage local people, as well as supporting our colleagues and partners with embedding best practice in community engagement. 
 
 

The Role:

We are looking to recruit two highly committed and talented individuals to join Kensington and Chelsea’s Consultation and Insight Team.

You will be joining a team of professionals which is at the forefront of the Council’s efforts to better engage, involve and consult our residents and stakeholders using a variety of established and innovative methods.
You will be responsible for conducting a range of consultations with residents using a variety of techniques to assess attitudes to, and satisfaction with, council services.

Whilst both roles have the same core duties there is a slightly different focus for each role. Submitted applications will be considered for both positions, preferences will be discussed at the interview stage. For further information please refer to the Job Description below:

Consultation and Insight Officer (Best practice and standards)

Consultation and Insight Officer (Co-ordination and intelligence) 

About You:

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, you will be up to date with consultation best practice, and have had involvement in effective public consultation. 

Analytical and numerical skills, accuracy and attention to detail are important requirements of the role, as is experience of designing and undertaking quantitative – and ideally qualitative − consultation projects. 

Confident in advising staff at all levels, you’ll be highly organised and able to write and present clearly for a variety of audiences. 

You will have a good level of computer literacy − word processing, databases, spreadsheets and Microsoft applications. A knowledge of Snap or some other survey software is also desirable.  

Role Requirements:

  • Design and undertake a range of quantitative and qualitative consultation exercises to inform Council policies and services.
  • Present consultation findings in user-friendly formats suitable for a variety of audiences. 
  • Support and advise colleagues across the organisation on their choice of consultation methods ensuring effectiveness. 
  • Collect and share intelligence gathered through consultation activity with colleagues across the Council.
  • Ensure compliance with equalities legislation and GDPR in publishing consultation related information. 

We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs. Your recruitment information will advise if your remit extends beyond RBKC.
