Job Details

This is a unique post allowing the successful candidate to build a real connection with shared lives carers and the people those carers support.

We are looking for a highly committed, motivated and experienced person who can support the development and growth of Camden’s Shared Lives scheme.

The primary purpose of this role is to be the main point of contact for Shared Lives Carers and citizens using the Shared Lives service. The post holder will be responsible for promoting the service, which will include confidently presenting to groups, attracting carers and matching them with service users, as well as providing ongoing support.

This is an exciting time to join us as you will have the opportunity to have an input at the developmental stage. The scheme is a Care Quality Commission registered service and all staff and Shared Lives Carers work within the CQC standards.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be successful in this role it would be desirable that you have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or above in Health and Social Care or 3 year minimum working with complex needs. You will also need to have demonstrable experience of supporting people with varying and complex support needs.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to strike the balance between being approachable, warm and friendly whilst maintaining professional boundaries. You will also have the ability problem solve efficiently and effectively and a can-do attitude.

The role will require you to be an excellent natural communicator, both verbally and written, as well as being confident at holding difficult conversations and have the ability to challenge poor practice and look for innovative ways to resolve issues. There will also be a requirement to explain the service to community groups
