About the role and team
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our forward thinking Environmental Health Partnership across Tandridge and Mole Valley District Councils as a valued member of a friendly and professional team.

Projects you’ll be working on
The role in the Residential and Environment Team offers a wide range of challenges, and opportunities to make a difference, often working on your own initiative and in a rural setting.

Focussing on improving housing standards, HHSRS inspections, HMO licensing and caravan site licensing.

You can also develop your skills in environmental protection. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our shared service whilst developing your own knowledge.

This role covers Tandridge district, with offices in Oxted, at the foot of the Surrey North Downs.

About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and practical individual with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of current housing legislation, be competent in HHSRS and HMO licensing.

You’ll have a common sense approach, practical problem solving and analytical skills.

You will need to be self-motivated and driven to manage your own caseload of private sector housing work.

Applicants must have a relevant degree or diploma in Environmental Health, demonstrate particular experience and knowledge of current housing standards and legislation.

You will have excellent customer care skills, an adaptable approach and the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and external organisations.
