Cheshire West and Chester is an innovative and ambitious authority, working towards a vision of a thriving Borough for individuals and communities alike, and playing a leading role in the wider region.  The Borough is diverse in terms of its landscape, communities and economy.  As one of the largest unitary authorities in the North West of England it encompasses the city of Chester, an internationally important historic city and a global centre for financial services;  a powerful manufacturing base;  cutting edge centres of excellence for science and innovation;  extensive swathes of countryside; attractive market towns and villages; alongside concentrated areas of urban deprivation.

We are also seeking a Head of Economic Growth who will be tasked with leading our relationships with local businesses and implementing the borough’s strategy for economic growth.  You will work closely with the Local Enterprise Partnership and local businesses to support sustainable and inclusive economic growth and support the future success of our extensive industrial base through the transition to a low carbon economy.  You will lead programmes to help people into work, and promote inward investment, the future high street, and our tourism sector.
