Casual Community Care Worker

£9.36 to £9.55 per hour

A new recruitment drive has been launched by Telford & Wrekin Council to find 50 new casual carers during the Coronavirus pandemic - and you could start in as soon as a week.

Telford & Wrekin Council is dedicated to offering the best essential support for the borough’s most vulnerable residents during the Coronavirus pandemic through its in-house My Options service.

The council has seen an increase in the number of people needing additional care at home during the current crisis - and now we want caring, dedicated individuals to help us provide a top class service.

Interviews will take place over the phone, with full training then provided to successful candidates online.

If you’ve recently found yourself without a job, this could be the perfect opportunity for you - and a quick start is guaranteed. You could be in your new role as soon as a week after applying.

As part of the scheme, carers will get an attractive package including:

  • Training provided by experienced and qualified council teams online.
  • The opportunity to shadow experienced, existing staff with on the job training .

Successful applicants will need a kind and caring nature, good listening skills and the ability to be flexible.

Councillor Andy Burford, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: “There is no doubt that our carers have proven they are real heroes already during this pandemic.

“Now we are recruiting an extra 50 casual carers to help ensure that vulnerable people in our borough are cared for around the clock.

“We want honest, reliable and compassionate individuals to come and work with us and help deliver this vital service - at a time where it has never been needed more.
