Salary
c£71,000 to £89,000 per annum

Bolton’s history at the heart of the industrial revolution is well known.  In Bolton 2030, we have a clear vision for our future, as a vibrant place, built on strong cohesive communities, successful businesses, and healthy residents. Powering our future is a £1 billion programme of regeneration in five key residential and commercial developments in our town. To secure Bolton 2030, we are transforming our Council, working in partnership across the Borough and Greater Manchester to modernise and maximise the potential of our people and place. We are advancing integration and partnership working with colleagues across the health and care system, with pooled budgets approaching £160m and co-located teams in our Town Hall.

That’s where you come in.

Working with the Director of Strategic Commissioning and alongside Heads of Commissioning for health, you will provide leadership and management for children and adults social care commissioning as well as public health commissioning, driving forward standards and outcomes for people across the Borough.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Commissioning (a joint post with Bolton CCG), you will lead Commissioning in the context of a developing Integrated Care System.  You will also provide assurance to the Directors (DASS/DCS/DPH) in key aspects of commissioning, including performance management, policy development and the delivery of key designated projects.

Your leadership and expertise will ensure that all our public health and care commissioning reflects local need and priorities while maximising resources.  Engagement and co-production with service users and their carers will be at the heart of your approach.

You will be central to the success of our strategic vision for the delivery of integrated health and social care services across adult social care, children’s social care and public health.

This is an exciting time to come to Bolton as you will support the Director to drive the development of our new integrated health and social care commissioning plan.  Working with the Director of Strategic Commissioning, you will also be at the forefront of building partnership working with our Integrated Care Partnership Alliance, working together to transform health and social care in Bolton.

About you

This is a role for a candidate with a strong track record in leading commissioning services and with a well-established expertise in social care. You will be an outstanding communicator able to demonstrate how you have established and nurtured effective partnership working.  You will be able to evidence the leadership and drive to succeed in a dynamic and changing context as we forge ahead with further integration.
