The Crown Commercial Service is the largest central purchasing organisation in the UK, with an ambition to become a £30bn per annum organisation within the next 4 to 5 years.

This is a key role leading the recently-formed Customer Experience Directorate. The post holder will be responsible for: driving revenue from c£15bn to c£30bn over the next 4 to 5 years, not least through excellent business development and lead conversion activities; and ensuring that the Crown Commercial Service is properly and effectively customer focused in all its activities.

This is a challenging and exciting time for CCS, and the Director of Business Development and Growth will be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure we realise our ambition. As a member of the CCS Senior Leadership Team and the Senior Responsible Owner, you will be responsible for a new programme of work to grow a new and efficient lead generation and conversion process within CCS - supported by appropriate technology, business and cultural change activities.

You will have relevant executive/senior stakeholder experience in business development either in the public or private sector, including an understanding of how business development can be applied appropriately in the public sector, and a proven track record of leadership that demonstrates excellent business judgement and an approach that builds and creates trust and maintains very strong and trusting relationships with a growing base of customers. You will demonstrate the ability to build a new directorate, motivating and leading a new team of business development managers and marketing specialists to deliver. With strong strategic thinking and planning skills, you will have the ability to translate marketing strategy into deliverable operational results. The salary could potentially be enhanced for an exceptional candidate.
