Social Care is at the heart of our communities, providing care and support for vulnerable people at various stages of their lives and for a variety of reasons. It is challenging and demanding work, yet ultimately rewarding as you can directly make a difference to the quality of a persons’ life and their day to day experiences.
The Mobile Response Service provides a fast and effective response to support Service Users who have a ‘carephone’. The support we provide will be in their own home, in situations where the Service User may need urgent assistance.
Your role will include supporting individuals in a time of crisis and when they need urgent help.
For example:
- Where there is no response from individuals to telephone calls (from carephones)
- Non-injury Falls and accidents
- Personal care needs
- Re- assurance calls
- Problems with assistive technology
Your role may also include supporting individuals with their daily activities which can include getting up (you may be required to support with elements of moving and handling including hoists as part of the role), personal care (which can be of an intimate nature), showering/bathing, assisting with toileting, dressing and getting people ready for the day ahead / all meals and drinks / support to mobilise around their home / medication management / getting ready for bed etc
