Public Safety Officer
An Excellent Opportunity...
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The post holder will work closely with event organisers, emergency services, planning & building control and other agencies. You will advise management and venue owners including Wembley National Stadium on how best to ensure the safety of spectators attending events. An important element of the role is to assist with the preparation of the general safety certificate for Wembley National Stadium and to prepare special safety certificates for concerts and other non-sports events. You will be required to carry out inspections of premises during events to ensure that duty holders are complying with the conditions attached to the safety certificates.
We are looking for an experienced and competent officer to carry out inspections, surveys and investigations in Wembley National Stadium, other sports grounds and licensed venues in Brent. To succeed in this role, you must have a recognised qualification or proven experience in health and safety or sports ground safety.
The work will involve a flexible approach when dealing with proactive and reactive issues; and you will be responsible for managing a caseload of work within the above disciplines.
You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and gain experience in a wide range of duties. Training will also be provided where necessary to ensure you maintain your competency and help you develop your professional role and move forward with your career.
