The Service: 
Providing strategic procurement for Northumberland County Council and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust; the Shared Procurement Service is a ground-breaking collaboration between the local authority and the Trust. It’s aim is to provide a sustainable and cost effective procurement service which helps drive economic benefits and service quality for all stakeholder organisations. 

The Roles: 
The Contracting function comprises two teams; Clinical, Health and Wellbeing and Corporate, FM and Environment.  
- Senior Procurement Specialist (Fixed Term - 12 months) - Clinical, Health and Wellbeing (£41,675 - £45,591)
- Senior Procurement Specialist - Corporate, FM and Environment (£41,675 - £45,591)
- Procurement Specialist x 2 - Clinical, Health and Wellbeing  (£32,029 - £35,934)
- Procurement Specialist x 2 - Corporate, FM and Environment (£32,029 - £35,934)

The team is a well-established team which has positive relationships across both the NHS and Council. We operate in an agile environment meaning that the successful applicants can be flexible in their work location. The central procurement office sits in County Hall, Morpeth but there are a range of other working sites available across Northumberland and North Tyneside and a mix of office and home-working is also offered. 
The team has a commitment to work-life balance and Senior Managers who understand the importance of flexibility.  

About the Roles 
The post-holders will be responsible for the delivery of a defined number of procurement projects across the two stakeholder organisations. As the roles cross both local authority and NHS, expertise in Local Authority and/or NHS procurement is desirable but not essential. We have an excellent record of developing our staff with varied experience and therefore applicants from other sectors are also welcomed. One thing that the successful applicants will have in common is the ability to draw on a well-developed set of procurement skills and commercial business acumen, working with a range of different stakeholders to provide an excellent service. We are keen to promote staff progression and to recognise achievement and the Council offers a range of recognition programmes accordingly.
