Spark transformation. Make change happen.

Whatever you might think about the Cotswolds, think again! We are.

We’re changing and modernising. Under new political leadership we’ve already begun driving forward innovation, tackling the climate emergency and putting the service back into Public Service.

As Chief Executive, you’ll bring energy and strategic vision to help accelerate innovation, create responsive services and benefit our 90,000 residents.

Our district is a wonderful area that deserves the best from us. That’s why we’re keen to modernise quickly, working with and for our local communities. Although you’ll join us in a challenging post-pandemic climate, you’ll have the energy and motivation to make exciting things happen, from digital transformation and improved efficiency through to smart place and community thinking.

Currently, services are provided by a successful and innovative shared services company in partnership with neighbouring councils. This means your role is less about managing large teams and services, and more about shaping and commissioning effective services that make the right impact.

You’ll also be tackling issues such as creating genuinely affordable housing amid the climate emergency, shaping public transport with an eye on the bigger picture and leading the charge to help stimulate economic growth in our District. Digital, cyber, big data and knowledge is at the heart of our economic strategy, and these concepts should be at the heart of the Council driving that program too. The key will be to influence, collaborate and bring fresh strategic thinking.

Although you may not work in local government, you’ll understand the priorities for public services. And you’ll have the leadership skills to inspire others and make change happen. Be at the front of change in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds.
