We have a rare opportunity for a senior legal officer to join our social services team.

The role will be temporary for 12 months and will focus predominantly children’s social care matters; in particular care proceedings and pre-proceedings work. The successful applicant will be expected to provide advice to the Council at meetings, including legal meetings and also provide general advice on child protection matters.

Applicants must be either a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, a newly qualified solicitor or barrister, or a person who can show a demonstrable level of knowledge gained by considerable practical experience.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to prioritise their workload to meet the changing demands within the team.
