An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate as the Disability Home Improvement Service Manager within the Royal Greenwich Disability & Home Improvement Team. This is a key role within the service, with the responsibility for leading and managing the service responsible for the delivery of adaptations, housing occupational therapy assessments and management of the Council’s Disabled Facilities Grant and Better Care Fund.

The postholder will have overall responsibility for the effective development and management of the range of services and functions delivered by the specialist teams. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development of partnerships, service level agreements and contracts that support and compliment the range of services offered by the team including internal and external partners and monitoring and managing capital, revenue and general fund budgets.

This rewarding job will suit applicants who have a strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality services to vulnerable people and an understanding of housing problems faced by older people and those with disabilities. 

We are looking for someone who is conscientious, adaptable and keen to join an innovative team to make a positive difference and drive the service forward whilst also making a difference in the lives of those vulnerable residents who need help, support and assistance. 

We would expect that you will be able to achieve the standards as set out within our staff values. 

The successful candidate will have management experience, be an excellent communicator have a good knowledge of problems and solutions related to the adaptation of domestic dwellings for people with physical disabilities.
