The City of York Council's corporate Business Support Service is offering an exciting opportunity to join the team.

There are 7 posts available which will primarily support work in Children’s Social Care.

  • 3 posts will support the Business Support Hub.
  • 1 post will support Child Protection & the Business Support Hub.
  • 1 post will support the Fostering service.
  • 1 post will support the Child Protection service.
  • 1 post will support the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.

All the roles requires effective, tactful and diplomatic interpersonal and communications skills. The successful candidates will be dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information about vulnerable service users.

The post holder will undertake a wide range of routine technical administration in relation to the Children’s Social Care case management system.

All the roles require the post holders to produce accurate minutes, disseminating the appropriate documentation within regulatory timescales.

The post holder will need a high degree of computer literacy and experience of working with information technology.

Successful candidates will work effectively and flexibly within a team as well as on their own initiative to meet conflicting demands.

The post holder will need to demonstrate organisational skills, including good time and task management.

The post holder will be part of a service that will continue to develop and adapt working practices. Successful candidates will have demonstrable ability to suggest improvements and be responsive to change.

The business support hub roles will be required to:

  • Provide support to a wide range of children’s social care teams
  • use software to redact documents as part of subject access request responses
  • assist in the implementation of new Business Support working practices
  • maintain and update records within the case management system
  • identify missing data and feedback to relevant workers and managers
  • compile monthly meeting schedules and distribute to partner agencies

The fostering support role will be required to:

  • assist in the implementation of new Business Support working practices
  • maintain and update central records
  • liaise with both internal and external customers, including support of a technical nature
  • collate statistics for management reporting
  • support other areas of the service which have a direct impact on recruitment of potential adopters and carers

The child protection roles will be required to:

  • Arrange child protection meetings including; booking rooms and drafting and sending meeting invitations.
  • receive reports from other agencies
  • distribute documentation before and after meetings
  • maintain and update records within the case management system

The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub role will be required to:

  • create, maintain and update records within the case management system
  • respond to information requests
  • complete archive searches and collate records
  • input data into the case management system
  • send requests for information to other agencies
