We are looking for a Chef Manager to join our North Yorkshire Catering team.

What you will bring

As our Chef Manager you will be responsible for delivering a customer-focused, exciting and healthy catering service, operating to a commercial budget and high standards of food safety and presentation. With guidance and support from our area and central teams, you will have the freedom to design your own menu to attract customers and be the ambassador of your site being as much front of house as back of house. You must have a drive for driving-up sales, be out going/confident, resilient, commercially-minded, flexible and enthusiastic and hold a Level 2 in Food Safety.

The location

We are delighted to be in partnership with Home Group, to manage the bistro and café at the new, extra care housing scheme Webb Ellis Court, in Scarborough. This consists of 63 apartments and a residents’ lounge, plus communal facilities including; a bistro and a café, hairdressing salon, courtyard garden and multi-use lounges. All areas are finished to a very high standard and the catering kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped.  All communal facilities are accessible to the public, as well as residents, visitors and staff. Therefore, a key part of the role will be ensuring that the maximum number of customers are attracted and keep returning. Offering a catering service to local groups and for meetings and parties will also be an exciting way to develop our service.

The opportunity

Initially the residents lounge bistro and café will be open Monday to Friday for breakfast, lunch, premium hot drinks and snacks. The position is for 27.5 hours a week, with the opportunity to extend as the service grows. You will be pivotal in launching this brand new service, in excellent facilities and will have the confidence, experience and drive to grow the business, by increasing sales whilst ensuring profitability.
