We are looking for an inspirational, motivated and enthusiastic Manager to lead our Highways & Traffic Management Group. Leading a variety of teams delivering Highways Maintenance, Traffic Engineering, Network Management and Asset Management, this role has a broad remit, spearheading these teams through an exciting period for the city, delivering essential schemes to assist with the cities growth ambitions, setting the agenda for investment requirements and planning and authorising works taking place on our network in order to keep our city moving. The applicant appointed to this role will need to have experience of delivering large programmes of work within a highways environment which are ambitious, deliverable and maintainable in line with the City Councils ambitions. They will also need to be able demonstrate technical ability and knowledge in order to ensure that these programmes are delivered in line with legislation, industry best practice and procedures. The successful candidate will have substantial, relevant and current management experience within a similar service, including the management of budgets and staff, and will be an ambassador for this city on many industry boards and partnerships.
