Chef Manager – Bransdale View Helmsley
We are looking for a Chef Manager to join our North Yorkshire Catering team.
What you will bring
As our Chef Manager you will be responsible for delivering a customer-focused, exciting and healthy catering service, operating to a commercial budget and high standards of food safety and presentation. With guidance and support from our area and central teams, you will have the freedom to design your own menu to attract customers and be the ambassador of your site being as much front of house as back of house. You must have a drive for driving-up sales, be out going/confident, resilient, commercially-minded, flexible and enthusiastic and hold a Level 2 in Food Safety.
We are delighted to be partnering Housing 21, to manage the Bistro at their Bransdale View development, on the edge of the beautiful town of Helmsley. Opened in early 2019, it consists of 64 apartments, for those aged 55 or above, with an identified need for care. Finished to a very high standard, it includes a customer lounge and garden, both of which lead directly from the Bistro and an adjacent hairdressing salon. All these facilities are accessible to the public, as well as residents, visitors and staff. Therefore, a key part of the role will be ensuring that the maximum number of customers are attracted and keep returning. Offering a catering service to local groups and for meetings and parties will also be an exciting way to develop our service.
Initially the Bistro will be open Monday to Friday for breakfast, lunch, premium hot drinks and snacks. The position is for 27.5 hours a week, with the opportunity to extend as the service grows. You will be pivotal in launching this brand new service, in excellent facilities and will have the confidence, experience and drive to grow the business, by increasing sales whilst ensuring profitability.
We are a ‘fresh food’ organisation encouraging our customers to choose healthy food with the aim of increasing sales. The catering service is part of our clients’ life and staff are required to adhere to high standards of behaviour at all times, including outside the workplace. As a North Yorkshire County Council employee you will have access to some great benefits such as shopping discounts, home technology and green car salary sacrifice, financial advice and health assured for your wellbeing. You will also have access to our local government pension scheme, a generous plan for your retirement with the option to increase your monthly contribution if you so wish. For more information on the benefits we offer please see our Total Rewards Brochure.
We would encourage you to contact Lee Ramsay, Operations Manager on 07976 363647 to discuss our great opportunity informally.
