This role offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join Birmingham Children’s Trust, the largest children’s social care provider in the country. The Trust is now very well established, we have a positive presence both regionally and nationally and as such, we are keen to influence local and national policy. We are going from strength to strength, this role being central to the success of our services, at the same time offering an opportunity to influence the future direction of social work practice.

The successful applicant will provide strategic leadership City wide, working alongside the Trust leadership Team and reporting to the Director of Practice and the Trust Executive. It is essential that you hold a recognised social work qualification and that you can demonstrate that you have led social work services at a strategic level.

We have developed an environment where learning, development and practice improvement are underpinning principles service wide. We pride ourselves on innovation and achieving what we set out to do, this role will help the Executive to achieve all that we set out to do.

We have established strong lines of communication with children, families and our workforce. We want to deliver services that children and families will benefit from; our primary task is to understand local need. This role will play a huge part in making this happen.

We have taken all things learning, development, performance and intelligence, quality and transformation into a City-wide Practice Hub. The successful candidate will oversee the practice, delivering innovation and consistency in practice, thinking outside of the box and supporting our whole workforce in striving for excellent social work and social care practice.

We have learned so much more about the needs of children and families during the pandemic. We are developing a service response that take account of that learning and we intend to be stronger as a result.
