Camden is a borough at the heart of London where major projects of national importance are having an impact on our citizens and communities including High Speed Two (HS2) and the redevelopment of Euston Station.
We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to provide strategic communications to support our work in relation to HS2 and Euston Station Redevelopment. In this role, you will be key to how we communicate our work on behalf of Camden’s communities in getting the best deal for Camden, and how we are making sure that HS2 Ltd delivers on its commitments to local people.
Building on our existing communications approach, you will lead the Council’s HS2 and Euston Station redevelopment communications, and you will have a role in supporting our community engagement / participation work with local people.
You will work closely with the Council’s Communications team, our programme leads for HS2 and Euston and colleagues across the Council to provide strategic communications advice, in particular around the construction of the High Speed 2 train line. You will brief key internal stakeholders such as councilors and senior officers, and liaise with external stakeholders such as HS2 Ltd, Transport for London, Department of Transport, Lendlease and resident and community groups.
As the owner of the overarching communications strategy, you will keep our key messages fresh and up-to-date, and make good use of all channels including digital, print, media and engagement events.
The right individual will have directly relevant communications experience at senior level, and be able to show their understanding of strategy, audiences and channels. You will have a good understanding of community engagement / participation and how to reach local audiences and key stakeholders.
You will have a proven track record delivering evidence based campaigns and evaluation along with good writing and presentation skills, and experience managing budgets and assigning resources to projects. You will be confident providing strategic advice at senior level.
