This new role provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join Birmingham Children’s Trust. Working with Birmingham Children’s Partnership, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an effective Early Help and Prevention offer to the children and families of Birmingham.

Birmingham Children’s Partnership is strengthening, we have a greater understanding of the needs of our communities, and a shared ambition to strengthen our offer to children. We want to deliver services that children and families will benefit from; our primary task is to understand local need. This role will play a huge part in making this happen.

The Partnership is committed to developing a new locality-based offer, this post will set the culture, tone and the pathways for early help and prevention with responsibility for the Early Help workforce, the Trust’s family Support offer and a number of preventative resources. Working across the Partnership and our ten locality leads will be key to this role, as we are committed to a whole system Early Help response.

The successful applicant will provide strategic leadership City wide, working actively with partners, schools, community services and the voluntary sector, driving a clear ambition and a shared understanding of the benefits and impact of early identification and prevention for children.

We have learned so much more about the needs of children and families during the pandemic. We have developed a partnership response that has included significant contributions from the Voluntary and Community Sector.  We will therefore take account of that learning and we intend to be stronger because of this partnership approach.

We are looking for a person who has ambition that matches ours, to join us at this exciting moment, to be part of the Trust’s and the wider partnership journey and help take us to the next level. The challenges are big, but the opportunities are great! You will be able to demonstrate a track record in shaping and improving services. You will be a proven senior leader who understands what good service look like.  In return we offer up to 34 days annual leave, a final salary pension and a range of employee benefits.
