The City of York Council's corporate Business Support Services is offering an opportunity to join the team, providing support to services throughout the authority.

The posts will primarily support work in Children’s Services, at the short breaks centre, dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

A part time (26hours) position available.

The role requires effective, tactful and diplomatic interpersonal and communications skills.

You will need a high degree of computer literacy and have experience of working with information technology in an office based environment.

Undertake a wide range of routine technical administration in relation to the Children’s Social Care case management system.

Assist in the management of information, maintaining computerised records and undertaking data analysis to produce management information.

The ability to work effectively and flexibly within a team as well as on your own initiative is essential to meet conflicting demands.

You will need to demonstrate organisational skills, including good time and task management

Staff will be dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information about vulnerable service users.

The post holder will be part of a service that will continue to develop and adapt working practices.  You will have demonstrable ability to suggest improvements and be flexible and responsive to change.

The duties of this post require the postholder to undertake a basic Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only) via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
