Transform young lives with your visionary ideas
At Essex County Council, we are focussed on investing in the young people who will be such an important part in our future. The way in which we support them now, will ultimately impact on the adults that they grow up to be - which is where you come in.
This is a unique opportunity to explore your boldest ideas, to craft creative services for young people who live in South Essex and work with young people and communities to develop youth work projects. We want to ensure that our young people have somewhere safe and inspirational to go after school and at the weekends.
You will specifically support our innovative Youth Work in Hospital project, supporting young people who present at Accident and Emergency. You will support and enable them to access services back in the community.
You will have plenty of support to get your ideas off the ground, building on our recently conducted interviews with young people in which we asked what types of services they want. Their responses have provided us with an excellent base from which to work, so you will have our full support as you embed yourself in each community, and design services that will enhance their social skills and understanding of the world.
Every day will present you with new challenges, such as training members of the extended team, and assessing risks associated with your proposed activities. You will therefore excel in this role if:
Essex County Council is proud to offer an excellent benefits package to all its employees. More information can be found on
Essex County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
We seek the best talent from the widest pool of people as diversity is key to our success.
