Building Safety Manager
This department is responsible for housing, communities and improving the lives of local residents. This includes landlord services and estate management, planning, refurbishment, and advice and support to help maintain healthy and safe homes.
A significant part of our work is focused on creating stronger communities, by working together with local residents on recovery following the Grenfell tragedy.

Joining a busy fire safety team comprising nine other colleagues, you will assist in implementing a customer-focused building safety service.
You will work with colleagues across Housing Management and the broader Council to ensure that Building Safety Cases are maintained and that residents are at the heart of our service.

You will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing safety of facilities, ideally in a multi-site environment.
You will have considerable experience in customer or stakeholder-focused engagement in facilities and safety management, and will be able to balance numerous tasks and deadlines, working to a high standard.
You will be an excellent communicator and will have experience of working with stakeholders across multiple departments.
The role will require a practical understanding of facilities and safety management. You will be required to manage customer engagement in the safety arrangements for the buildings that you are responsible for.
You will understand, manage and update as necessary the relevant Building Safety Case, working with the fire safety team to ensure that safety is managed throughout the building lifecycle.
You will work with colleagues across departments to ensure that their work and activities are planned and carried out safely in your buildings.
We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs.
