As part of Barnet’s drive for continuous improvement we are looking for two enthusiastic, positive people to undertake the role of Welfare Rights Advisors. These will be fixed term contracts for 12 months.
This is an opportunity to join a developing, high profile service and provide a key contribution towards helping children and families in Barnet. The role will provide specialist welfare rights and benefit advice for families using Barnet’s Early Help Services and ensure that families using the service have the opportunity of having their incomes maximised, in order to ensure financial inclusion policies are mainstreamed within Centres service delivery.
Integral to the post will be:
• Delivering outreach advice surgeries in the Early Help Centres and to undertake home visits and case hold where necessary
• Maintaining referral systems to ensure health, social care and relevant professionals refer families in need of welfare benefit advice.
• Working closely with a range of partner agencies to encourage service providers to consider the financial inclusion needs of families using Early Help Services.
• Attend regular service review meetings with to assess the effectiveness of the service.
