You will work closely with the Head of Law and Governance and, as our Deputy Monitoring Officer, you will deliver legal services and provide legal advice at the highest level, across all legal disciplines, to the Council. You will contribute to the achievement of the Council’s corporate priorities and objectives by aligning the Legal Service to identified priorities. You will demonstrate strong and robust leadership and management of the Law and Governance Service. In addition, you will play an important role in how we manage and strengthen the relationship with our trading companies and play an influential role in their continued success.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone that is solutions-focussed, agile and excited by finding creative solutions within complex agendas. You will be a collaborative leader, able to marshal thoughts and engage in discussion. You will be motivated by operating outside of your professional discipline and constantly looking for ways to support colleagues that are tackling challenges.

As our Deputy Monitoring Officer, you will have previously held this position in another local authority or be excited by the challenge of stepping up into the role. You will have a commercial outlook and experience of working with external stakeholders in a range of settings.

The Legal Services Manager role will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work on innovative and novel projects, at the interface of the public and private sector.
