Brent Building Control are pleased to announce that a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious under-graduate to join a successful and established team, based in our award-winning Civic Centre, with views of Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena and with the London Designer Outlet all right next door.

This tremendous opportunity would suit an under-graduate looking for an Industrial Placement Year of Study and a route into Local Authority Building Control. We will give you the chance to develop your skills and gain invaluable experience working within our Domestic Surveying team, working alongside experienced Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Fire Engineers and Chartered Structural Engineers.

We have a wealth of exciting challenges for you to work with experienced Building Control Surveyors in our multi-disciplinary service ranging from Residential domestic work, Sports Stadium (Wembley Stadium) and new high rise domestic and office Tower Developments as well as working in a commercial environment.

The Post

Located right in the heart of the Wembley regeneration area and working throughout the borough, we are looking for an under graduate who is looking for a one year industrial placement.

You will receive ongoing training and development to allow you to develop you skills and knowledge in Building Control. You will assist Senior and Principal Surveyors, delivering an effective Building Control service and providing helpful advice / guidance to our clients on various domestic, commercial, mixed-use and complex high-rise projects.

The Person

We are looking to recruit a customer-focussed under-graduate with relevant construction / building control knowledge and learning interest towards either structural engineering or fire safety.

You will need to communicate well with all our stakeholders, be technically minded and have the ability to promote and represent the Building Control service. Your focus will be to support and assist the team in delivering projects on time, while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and other statutory requirements.

The candidate should have completed their second year of study on a construction related degree and looking for a one year industrial placement. You need to be an under-graduate member of a Construction based Chartered Institute and desirably hold a site safety qualification or test certificate.
