To provide a financial support service to the North London Waste Authority through the preparation and monitoring of the Authority’s budgets which will include the production of final accounts, regular forecasts and the maintenance and reconciliation of accounts.

In this role you will ensure that accounting systems are reconciled and well maintained, monitor and manage cashflows to ensure that sufficient funding is available at all times, ensure that income and expenditure is accurately reflected in monthly reporting and the statutory accounts as well as advise budget holders and other officers to ensure they have a clear understanding of financial requirements.

You will report to the Head of Finance and have a close working relationship with budget holders.

A CIPFA (or equivalent) qualification is desirable. You will have knowledge and understanding of Local Government statutory financial reporting requirements and financial frameworks.

The right individual will also be an excellent communicator along with good influencing and presentation skills.

Understanding and knowledge of providing service delivery improvements, including financial systems and processes within a financial setting is also required.
