The Role

Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Services Department has strong values and a focus on improving outcomes to vulnerable adults and their carers. We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist who share our values and commitment and are passionate about improving lives of local residents.

We currently have an exciting opportunity in the Wandsworth Locality Team. The Locality Team are integrated social work and occupational therapy teams working with older people and younger adults with physical disabilities leading on Care Act assessments, support planning and case management.

Duties Include:

  • To arrange and undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments of individuals with complex disability needs
  • To complete intervention plans and make recommendations using a client centred approach and making best use of resources in order to maximise service users functional independence in activities of daily living within their homes
  • To undertake complex Moving and Handling Risk Assessments
  • To recommend and provide specialist equipment, minor and major adaptations, liaising with appropriate professionals when necessary
  • To carry out generic social care assessment reviews and to arrange packages of care
  • To participate in safeguarding inquiries and investigations
  • To respond appropriately to urgent referrals and prioritise workload in response to levels of risk and duty of care within agreed workload throughput targets
