Renowned universities. World-class hospitals. An incredible innovation base. A cutting-edge low carbon agenda. Thinking London, Birmingham or Manchester? Think again. When it comes to potential and global reach, Oxford punches far above its weight. As Chief Executive, you’ll help us explore a world of exciting possibilities generated by our city. With your leadership and our vision, we’ll face challenges, deliver exceptional services and give local people the best possible future. Your impact could go far – just like Oxford’s.
A decisive and inspirational leader, you’ll direct the Council to serve an amazing city. That means motivating our team to provide outstanding services at an extremely difficult time. You’ll also bring together staff at our Council-owned housing, regeneration and direct services companies and ensure these businesses generate maximum income. You’ll do the same with our many partnerships, strengthening links and ensuring they achieve their full potential.
We’ve set ourselves some ambitious aims: becoming carbon neutral, creating affordable housing and supporting partners in raising standards of educational attainment. We’re also passionate about making Oxford a place where everyone’s free to thrive. As Chief Executive, you’ll uphold our commitment to diversity and inclusion and lead us to achieve our goals. With people at the heart of all we do, your ability to engage and consult will be critical to your success.
With pioneering tech and science, wonderful history and a vibrant cultural scene, Oxford is unlike anywhere else. And we’re looking for a Chief Executive who’s just as unique. Experienced and confident, you’ve proved you can lead at the highest levels, bringing change and energy. And crucially, you have the credibility and people skills to forge and grow relationships. A natural ambassador, you’ll be comfortable dealing with everyone from our communities to globally recognised players. Politically smart and commercially sharp, you’ll take partnerships to the next level.
If you’re a skilled and capable leader, come and explore our city’s opportunities.
